The majority of the students I am working with are more than a year below grade level in reading. Most of the students do not own books or materials that they can use to develop a love of reading. I plan to give individual students books of their choice at an appropriate instructional level. The students will be on an A/B day schedule so they will pick a book to keep that I can assign work on for teaching remotely on the days they are not in school. It is extremely difficult to teach reading remotely when the children do not have any books or material to use. Please help my students develop a love and passion for reading that will last a lifetime.
