Giving my 2nd graders flexible seating allows for them to work the way that is best for them during independent learning time. Often working from the floor can be a bit awkward, but these desks will give them the ability to use better posture and define their working space. Students will be able to maintain social distance from their peers, as well. Since this is a choice that they make on their own, I often find they are more engaged and get more work completed than when they are just sitting at their desk. Using flexible seating provides student choice and motivates them to be more engaged with their work. 2nd graders need to move around to keep stimulated but yet focused on their tasks. Adding wobble chairs will let my wigglers move as they work, keeping them better focused on their task. It also allows for more overall seating at tables and work stations. The portable desks will keep them comfortable if they choose to work on the floor. They are lightweight and can be easily used in many areas of the classroom. Finally, I added the headphones and TPT gift card to help with teaching distance learning. There are so many amazing resources teachers share on TPT, so it would help to secure activities for Distance Learning. The microphone on my computer can be a bit far at times and students can't always hear me. I have seen how choice can positively affect my student's work and demeanor and hope that the additional options will help us grow even more!
