Practice makes perfect! During small group sessions, all of my students are exposed to rich text targeted for their reading level. Once skills are taught, I release the responsibility to practice these skills in books of their own choosing. The books from this project will provide a stronger, broader source of stories from which my students may choose. Student choice is pivotal for creating a love for reading. From Bella and Rosie to Elephant and Piggie, reading will come alive for my students! Building a strong variety of text enhances student choice.
