For my Ceramics classes. Kiln shelves allow the pottery to be stacked in the kiln. Multiple shelves are needed to create multiple levels like a bookshelf. I'm new to this school, and the kiln shelves I inherited from my predecessor are very badly warped and cracked. We are currently unable to safely glaze-fire our work, as our kiln shelves are no longer structurally sound. Cracks can result in shelves breaking during firings, resulting in everything collapsing into a pile, destroying students' work and damaging the kiln. This is not a risk I am willing to take, with work & equipment that is not mine
