Our school is a Title I Montessori school in inner-city Indianapolis, with a diverse population of learners. Being a Preschool/Kindergarten teacher, I have the fortunate opportunity to guide children on their journey of becoming Montessori learners. My students come from a variety of backgrounds, which allows us to form a unique classroom community. This variety of backgrounds encourages understanding, compassion, and empathy amongst students. While their backgrounds are all different, the children share a common love for learning. "The greatest gifts we can give our children are the roots of responsibility and the wings of independence." -Dr. Maria Montessori As a Montessori teacher, I work to make sure each child's individual needs are met. Meeting these needs involve much preparation and planning. The goal of this preparation is to encourage independence and confidence.
