In my classroom, we create many drawings throughout the year! We have projects involving drawing and drawing techniques, a drawing center for free days, and one of my 'Early Finishers' is to free draw. One of the drawing techniques I like to implement in my classroom is 'Draw Light Until You've Got It Right, Then Go Darker or Trace With MARKER!'. This allows for a pencil drawing to quickly turn into a 'Finished Artwork', and makes students feel more confident with their final work of art. By getting a bulk purchase of Sharpie pens, I would be able to allow for each of my students to have their own Sharpie, so that there is no worry about finding a half-working Sharpie, a dull Sharpie, or one that doesn't even work anymore! We are grateful for the permanent markers we have in our classroom right now, but they do not always produce beautiful, bold lines that my artists deserve! I want my students to be able to create works of art that look completed, and that they are proud of!
