Students are given an open-ended challenge which they must overcome through the design process (ask--research--imagine--plan--create--test--improve--ask). Students will design to scale and then construct hydraulic arms using syringes, tubing, tongue depressors, 1/4" dowel, glue, paper clips, and other materials as needed. An emphasis will be put on the design process and making modifications to overcome the challenge. Through designing and building hydraulic arms, students will overcome a challenge of creating an operable hydraulic arm of their own design. Being that we are distance-teaching, kits will be put together for all of my students so that they can build at home. Thank you!
