Due to COVID-19, we are not allowed to use our usual manipulatives we use to teach children who benefit from a multi-sensory approach. Having an iPad for my students would mean being able to put communication apps on so they are able to communicate when they forget theirs at home. It would be used to allow my students to stay engaged and foster independence on so many skills we have been working on by being able to perform actions themselves instead of relying on verbal cues. If our school shuts down due to COVID-19, this iPad would allow me to share activities with student via different teletherapy platforms to continue to work on the cognitive and communications skills that they need to continue to develop into active and independent students in our classrooms.
