I have the pleasure of coordinating our school’s Equity Leadership Team (ELT) which is both rewarding and challenging, each in varying degrees each day. Part of that challenge is ensuring we are not "leading" such important work from a place of stagnation. Equity is never work we are "ready" for; we simply start wherever we are, inventory the tools we have, and use those to grow the mission, the coalition, and ourselves. Half of all our ELT gatherings are devoted to team learning, and this library will help ensure that learning can be both collective AND personalized. Personally, I have (un)learned SO much this year in some ways I am proud of, though also in too many ways that highlight the necessary reflective work ahead of me. I believe this library, and the many amazing minds that comprise it, will help me to show up more authentically, consistently, and humbly for my students and colleagues—and, perhaps, inspire them to do the same.
