The iPad will be used as therapy tool for children with disabilities in school settings across Jordan Valley. An iPad is one of the most essential and easily adaptable resources we can use with children of all ability levels. iPads can be used in a multitude of ways, to treat a variety of disabilities. For example, for a non-verbal child an iPad provides the option for communication, picture schedules, and assistance with daily routines. For visually impaired children, the iPad is a nice alternative for enlarging text, changing contrast, and providing additional stimulating sensory input. For children with cognitive delays, the iPad provides educational tools that are motivating and engaging. The list of potential treatment opportunities and students that will benefit could go on and on! Regardless of ability level, learning technology is an essential skill in today's world. All children should have the same access to technology and be provided with tools that meet their unique needs. I believe that an iPad is the most accessible and adaptable treatment tool on the market currently.
