My math classroom features both flexible seating and blended learning, which gives students freedom and choice to find the ways they learn best. These changes have made math class a favorite for my students - no easy feat in middle school! Students are engaged in learning and love that they have choices available in their learning environment. I want to provide additional flexible seating options this year because I'm moving to a blended learning model of instruction and we will need more collaborative workspaces in our class! Flexible seating options give students opportunities to design the workspace that best suits their team or their learning activity, fidget toys help students with attention and focus, and blended learning provides opportunities to learn through a mix of direct instruction and technology.
