These books will help open the eyes of my students to the diversity of life experiences in our worlds. Having a variety of books available at close reach- in the classroom- will help encourage a love for reading in my students. I hope to have books that will meet all interests and reading levels so everybody has access to something they will enjoy reading! I would also love to use many of these books as read-alouds in my classroom. Read-alouds provide a great opportunity for classroom discussion and exposure to different genres of text that students may not have chosen on their own. There is also a great opportunity to help students develop their reading comprehension during a read-aloud. All of this could be made possible with these great books!
