The students I work with are faced with constant barriers in learning due to their learning and disabilities. Because of these barriers, social justice isn't always the main focus of their education. It is so important for kids to learn about social justice and see themselves in the books we read. In my school, we have a very diverse group of kids who learn best through stories, pictures, and being able to relate to characters. As a school social worker, I want to start reading these books with my students and have open conversations with them after reading the books.
