Students learn reading and writing best when they are engaged with the books they are reading. Most of these books are requests from students that they want to read for their independent book study. Students follow along with their books and log their thoughts or work on skills with them. They also function as models for their independent write time. We currently do not have a library at my school so it would be awesome to provide this for the students. I want my students to be able to have literature circles especially as COVID made reading and school so distanced. There are several sets that will allow students to meet in groups to discuss their reading and skills, along with supplements to our in class reading for them to check out. In addition, some supplies such as the highlighters and note pad are used by the students in their logs or books and for their book presentations. The comfortable cushions are for reading spaces. The spice rack will be used as a book space for students to recommend books for their peers. Will mainly address standards: RL.7.1-6, RL.7.10, RI.7.1-6, RI.7.9-10
