Students are entering my classroom this year using a hybrid model. They will be learning with me in person using safe and socially distant protocols while also spending half of the week learning at home. Even as they enter a familiar classroom, the routines that they have come to rely on will have to be shifted. Proper headphones will aid those who are at home to focus on their remote days, while reusable dry erase tools in class (that can be disinfected) will allow for activities such as gallery walks and graffiti brainstorms to continue in the classroom. Buzzers will facilitate for socially distant debates, and brand new notebooks will ensure students feel a sense of normalcy in abnormal times. Above all, cleaning supplies along with PPE will give me the peace of mind that I am fully engaging with my students in person while also keeping them and their families safe.
