Attendance is crucial to student academic achievement. My students love to create art. This project seeks to leverage this love of art as a way to encourage and celebrate student attendance in our remote learning setting. Students meeting specific monthly attendance criteria will have the opportunity to select an art kit to take and keep at home. By donating to my project, you will not only help to improve and increase student participation and attendance, you will ultimately help students cultivate their love of art and develop their artistic talent. Think about a time when you were younger and finished a piece of artwork or a craft to share with your parent or guardian - do you remember the sense of accomplishment that you felt? Did it become a keepsake that you kept, even into adulthood? Or think of a time when a young child has given you their artwork or craft - what was the expression on his/her face? Did he/she glow with pride when you hung it on the fridge or said that you would treasure it? Your donation will give my students the opportunity to have these same experiences and the create these lasting memories.
