As remote learning may be a temporary new "norm" for learning, I want to make sure my students can learn as if they were right in the classroom. Teaching first grade is very hands on. Whether I am presenting a lesson on the white board or using a manipulative, my students need to be a close to the classroom as possible. The camera will allow me to demonstrate, model and allow them to share as we learn remotely. I will be using the Eureka Math Curriculum. Students can master this if the experience is focused, coherent and balanced. For example, I will be teaching a lesson on Sums and Differences to 10. I would use counting cubes to demonstrate this skill. Having the camera will allow my students to see it live as I am teaching. They can follow along with the material sent home and perform as if they were in class.
