Scholastic News Magazines provide students the ability to have a text in their hands, which many of our students don't have, AND the ability to access this text online. The online component allows kiddos to be able to read the story, have the story read to them, and scholastic provides interactive word work and vocabulary activities to go with it. Furthermore scholastic will link this to enrichment activities on the topic to inspire students to continue their learning. This tool helps students to have the ability to do this activity independently but parents will also enjoy doing this with their kiddo as I have enjoyed doing it with my Kindergartener from home. This gift will help the entire 2nd grade at St. Helens be inspired to continue their learning through the difficulty of being remote.
