With this project, I'm eager to start my first year classroom by providing my students with texts in both Spanish and English that represent diverse experiences, characters, and histories that my students can identify with, and feel seen, valued, and cherished through. With these texts, I'm keen on instilling critical thinking, civic engagement, anti-racism, humanizing perspectives, and add to sources they can access on being leaders in our communities in bettering and caring for each other and our environment. Ultimately, its my aim to be able to share with my students a joy for literature that is empowering, and uplifting, especially during our extremely challenging times.

About my class
