These new books will make a difference for my students. They will have more options on what they can read and they will be able to read about characters who share either the same race or ethnicity as them. Our school has a large population of Hispanic students and I believe it would be good for them to see their culture and ethnicity represented in literature. My students have been begging me for new books, but they’re expensive to get on my own. I would even like to be able to let my students keep some of the books if they connect with them.
