It is imperative that today's primary students have coding and robotic experiences that will enable them to be competitive in the 21st century job market. Unfortunately, like many other Title 1 school districts, our budget has been cut. Wealthier school districts in the area are fully equipped with the latest coding and robotic technologies available. I want to provide my students with these same opportunities and activities! The Cubelets Creative Constructors Sets will help me achieve this goal. Students will learn about robotics, coding and design thinking, as they snap together three types of magnetic cubes, making an endless variety of interactive robots. SENSE cubes mimic your senses, THINK cubes act like brains processing information and ACT cubes take commands to create power, light and sound! Due to Covid 19 and the CDC's recommendations, my students must socially distance this year. I cannot have students working in groups of three or four anymore. I am hoping to receive 2 Creative Constructors Sets so I will have enough Cubelets for my students to work independently. Because I teach three grade levels, I will use grade specific lesson plans and activity cards. Students will be able to cultivate and extend their coding and robotic skills throughout their three years in the STEM Lab. Cubelets Creative Constructors Sets will improve their critical thinking, problem solving and design thinking skills. I can not wait to see my students' creativity come to light with a snap.
