As my students head back to our "virtual classroom" it is important that they are able to hold the book in their hands and interact with the text. This process helps my students stay engaged during the teacher read aloud time, as well as partner reading, and independent reading time. Being able to hold a physical book in your hands, helps my students to foster a love and appreciation of award-winning literature, stay engaged in the story, make meaning for themselves, learn reading and writing strategies from model authors, and develop a life-long love of reading.
