6th grade is known for 6th grade trips and world history. This year will not offer these experiences. Without the experience of hands on learning and social bonding, students will experience a lack of wonder and imagination. Students need wonder to learn. With Science and Social Studies pushed to the back burner in elementary education (our district's focus is math and language arts), how will we reignite this imagination of science or the wonder of the world? We can't travel. We can't experiment. So let's give them something they can experience.
