I teach students with autism and it is very important they have a well equipped sensory room. A sensory room helps my students improver their visual, auditory, and tactile processing , as well as gross motor skills. A calming sensory room can help my students learn to self regulate their behaviors. A well put together sensory room has a calming effect and helps reduce stress and anxiety my students may be feeling. We want every child in our school to know they are welcome in our classroom! We are excited.
