This classroom library contains books that all of my students can use to see characters that look and act like them. The books will be new and not hand-me-downs from libraries around the school. This being my second year of teaching and the first year in first grade my diverse students need to have books they share in the classroom and can take home and share with their families Equity and self-identification will help students develop into strong readers with a love of reading. Applying the history of different cultures will help my students better understand and work with each other.
