The purpose of this project is stepping into multicultural experiences. Since my classroom is a 2-way dual language, each student comes with their own experiences, traditions, and cultures. With these materials we will be able to bring different holidays and cultures into the classroom. Students will get to create crafts, read books, and learn about different holidays and traditions such as Day of the Dead (Nov 2), Halloween (Oct 25), Christmas (Dec 25), Thanksgiving (Nov 25), Day of the Wiseman (Jan 6), Chinese New Year (Feb 1), Valentine's Day (Feb 14), Easter (Apr 17) among other holidays. While learning and creating, the students will be developing many foundational skills such as fine and gross motor skills, counting, one to one correspondence, letter names, letter sounds, handwriting, and dramatic play.
