These books will help make a difference in my students' learning by helping my students build relationships. They will make connections to the characters they meet in the books and also to each other. There is power in a diverse book! It can embrace the heart while creating empathy and acceptance. It is my hope that the life lessons learned through this literature will inspire kindness, foster acceptance (of one-self and others), promote grit, encourage determination, build empathy, and advocate celebrating others. These books will be added to my classroom library for all students to embrace diversity!
