These games will help students practice addition, subtraction, and “making ten.” These are crucial skills that all of first-grade math is built upon. It’s important that students have a deep understanding that they will gain from learning through math games. Students will also build a community by playing, building, and working together with their classmates. These STEM activities will encourage skills they will need in the future such as teamwork, collaboration, and innovative thinking. Building engages students’ brains by encouraging critical thinking time and project management. These skills are crucial to encourage the social skills that the pandemic has made challenging.
