As a behavior specialist and school counselor, an iPad can open up so many possibilities. As our school system is faced with the unchartered territory that Covid-19 brings, we still have to serve each and every student. At any given moment we could be sent to straight virtual learning. If we are't doing virtual learning, I serve over 600 students in two of our schools. This versatile tool has many uses , where I can live stream with students learning at home. The iPad can also be used to work with students in the school through apps that assist with coping and emotional strategies. This can make learning fun and accessible for all. I plan on doing all these and more with the iPad. With this iPad, I plan on using Google Classroom to provide students working digitally at home, with tools and resources. I will use additional resources and apps that will help with attention, coping skills, and stress relief, such as: digital calm down corner, moody monsters, unstuck, emotional abc, gonoodle etc. Now more than ever, digital learning needs to be user friendly and streamlined so that student's social and emotional needs are still being met. The iPad can be multifunctional for both students and myself.
