In a classroom of 25+ students, it is often challenging to paint on a vertical plane with paint dripping down or model 3-D mini-sculptures while providing a clear vision of design elements and details. When the use of technology in the classroom isn't accessible, a document camera would provide the artistic opportunity to model specific instruction for all students to view and comprehend. Students will become more engaged when they can experience the creative processes, strategies, and problem-solving skills with the teacher and their peers. The use of a document camera will allow me the ability to show my students the processes of art-making. When students can see the elements of art and the principles of design as art is being created, they can relate the process with the vocabulary and skills. This will also allow me the opportunity to provide all of my students the ability to view lessons remotely, whether we have to distance learn during the pandemic or for weather-related closures.
