I want to provide my students with the tools and knowledge they will need to understand and eliminate racism, bigotry, and inequality for future generations. In order to do this we will study different works, like Just Mercy, so that students understand our criminal justice system and the legacy of racial injustice. This will be read in our AP Language and Composition course with other units that include how poverty and the criminal justice system are tied together, and how this has an effect on so many aspects of people's lives, including nutrition and education, amongst other topics.
