Since my district made the decision to ensure the safety of their staff and their students by going virtual this fall. While I’m thankful that all the necessary precautions have been taken to make sure that we teach in a safe environment, this presents new challenges for both me as a new teacher and my new to school little learners. Making that connection between home and school is the main reason I’m asking for a portable whiteboard and center time.. I want to use the board to conduct circle time and other literacy and math related activities daily. We all know that a whiteboard is an important asset to the classroom, so having one will at home can make it seem normal and real as I use it each day as an instructional tool to engage my new kindergarten students.
