When teaching history we believe that it is important to continually examine the voices and experiences of those our textbook may not include. One way in which I will be introducing these voices is through the study of this narrative experience which has been adapted for young readers. We will read the text, listen to Mr. Reynolds narration and compare the events discussed to current events. It is my goal to use this text to allow students to evaluate our nations history to develop an understanding of important events in society today.
