I would like to install a sensory path on the floor in the hallway for students to use throughout the day for brain breaks and play. A sensory path would allow students to build sensory pathways (connections in the brain that are responsible for sight, touch, sound, etc.) that enable kids to complete complex, multi-stage tasks all while maintaining a safe distance from peers. This sensory path would benefit children in all areas of development. Students are able to learn best when they are focused and engaged. This takes concentration. A sensory break helps kids get their wiggles out and go back to the classroom ready to learn. This project will be used for all students in K-5 to get breaks in our school.
