This year teachers will not be receiving any government funding for back-to-school supplies. I have usually spent not only the allocated funds we are given, but also my own money towards my classroom set-up at the beginning of the year. With no funding this year, I am discouraged about how to create the warm and colorful classroom environment I have had in the past. With everything going on in the world right now, I know there is a lot of anxiety in students getting back into the classroom. I want my students to feel welcomed by walking into a beautiful and organized classroom. I also know it may be a struggle for some of them to get their own school supplies and I want to be able to provide these things for them so they do not have to worry about it.
