This document camera is dually the ideal technology for virtual learning as well as face to face classroom instruction. Through the instruction of Composition and Exposition, students learn the writing process. Therefore, students must edit to create and recreate their work to focus on particular aspects of learning writing. To visually represent writing with the help of a document camera to facilitate students learning of types of phrasing, grammar points, and overall organizational structure, would be the ideal way to teach. Think of it! A document cam is today's answer to overlays on overhead projectors. Students can see the errors in the writing and collaboratively discuss ways to fix them. This technology allows for whole group instruction and saves time for both teacher and student. Because our district is starting virtually, and I will be teaching on a web cam through Google Meet, I have the ability to show the document camera's material, get student feedback, and seamlessly accomplish the objectives of the writing lesson. Thank you for your consideration of this important piece of technology in the writing classroom!
