Every day we use magnetic letters to build foundational literacy skills. In our small group lessons, students that use these resources will practice identifying letter sounds, create word patterns and build and break apart words in a variety of ways. Then, students will be able to use the white boards and markers to practice writing these new words as well. The overall goal of using these magnetic letters as manipulatives is for students to gain confidence building words which improves both their reading and writing These sets are critical for student learning during virtual teaching. By having their own set at home they will be able to practice the same skills that we would be doing if we were in the classroom. The magnetic boards will be a great place for them to build and write words.
