This fall, HTHM ninth-graders will engage in an integrated project between humanities and fine arts that addresses social justice. Through this project, students will examine the following questions: What is our nation's dominant narrative and whose voices are missing from that story? What is our dream for justice? How do we analyze and critique injustice? How will we show up and act during this time in human history? Pulling on Rachel Cargle's framework, students will build conscious knowledge, practice radical empathy, and take intentional action to disrupt injustice in their community. Students will share their learning and how they took action in a winter virtual Summit that will convene students, community members, and local leaders.
