Flexible seating is extremely beneficial for little learners. It helps students to be able to move so that they can concentrate and do their best work. It will be especially important this year when students school day will be much more rigid and regimented than it has been previously. My students have not been in school since March, so many of them have not been expected to sit and learn for long periods of time in over five months. Flexible seating will allow my students the movement breaks that they will not be able to get as often as they previously did. Flexible seating will help the students to transition more easily back into a school environment by giving them the ability to move without walking around our classroom. At the beginning of the year, I will let my students test out the various seating options to see which one will allow them to do their best work. Students will be given choice over which seats they would like to choose going forward.
