The art supplies in this project will allow me to send home a packet of wonderful, quality supplies to every one of my VAPA art students across all 6 schools for the first semester. I have 12 classes of 5th and 6th grade art students at 6 different schools. These supplies will be distributed to all of my students for their use at home. A very important part of this project is the large monitor that will help me see all of my students at the same time in grid view during our online meetings. This will allow me better ability for interaction with all my students. I am planning to provide my students with both colored pencils and watercolors for their use at home on many art projects that will help them make the most of their distance learning. I have numerous weekly colored pencil and watercolor projects planned for them this year, which include color mixing, still life, and value projects. They will use these supplies at home to create drawings and paintings providing them a creative outlet during this difficult time. The picture of the whale is one sample of a lesson we did from last school year in distance learning. This 5th grade artist combined colored pencil, watercolor, and crayon resist to create this piece. She expressed to me in her written reflection how this project gave her much needed peace and happiness during quarantine. This is just one of hundreds of amazing projects that will be created by helping my classes. Thank you!
