This year has been a rollercoaster for students and teachers. In order to be flexible, I am trying to incorporate as many digital-friendly options as I can just in case our school goes virtual and my students need to transition over. Magazines both catch the students' eye and keep them engaged on relevant events going on that they will be interested in. This is a perfect way for my students to keep up to date on current events while also practicing different essential nonfiction literacy skills, grammar skills, and vocabulary skills! Scholastic also provides teacher resources that help make differentiating easy using these magazines so that I can really support my below-level students who need a little extra help. These magazines will give them a boost of confidence and help them be more engaged in learning!
