Funding these classroom calculators will enable our sixth graders to soar higher than ever before. My sixth graders will learn to create and solve equations, perform statistical analysis, think in multiple dimensions, and graphically represent real-life problems. This essential material provides a solid foundation for a life of loving math, but it also demands more than a cell phone calculator can provide. As a former physicist, I know how important it is for the next generation to start learning how to use the many functions of a scientific calculator starting in sixth grade. These scientific calculators mimic those used by scientists and engineers and set our students up for success at an affordable price. This year has been especially difficult for our families, leaving students to go without essential school supplies. As a first-year teacher, my budget was stretched to the maximum to provide my students with protective equipment. Donating would help our students stay on track and close the achievement gap widened by the pandemic. If you believe every student deserves the opportunity to learn and love math, please consider donating and sharing this campaign. Thank you for your consideration.
