The materials I have chosen will be used for students during Remote Learning. While in our regular Pre K Room setting there is an emphasis on Language and Literacy. Journals and drawings are something we love to build upon each year. The materials of journals, composition books, paper, paint, and writing utensils will be used by the students tell and illustrate their stories. The name cards will be used by me at home to call upon each student during our virtual learning sessions. Everyone has a story to tell. Each week I will choose a different topic and have the students write about it and draw illustrations. The words will be written in the journals. The larger construction paper will be used for illustrations. The goal of this weekly lesson aligns with one of the Literacy Early Learning Standards for the State of Illinois: Student is able draw and tell a story through story dictation and drawings. I’m so excited to hear all the stories of my Pre K students. These materials will help all the students at home.
