My students come to school full of life and ready to learn! Adults get tired of sitting in hard chairs all day and my students do too! My students need more flexible/comfortable seating options. This will enhance their engagement and learning. Children learn better when they are physically active and comfortable, as studies have proved this. Some of the seating options that will be provided with this project are wobble cushions, wobble stools, and yoga mats. Students will be able to move on a wobble cushion or use a yoga mat to sit, stand, kneel, etc. All of these options will give my students the opportunity to sit comfortably and move around while they are learning. The wobble cushions mean that students can kneel at the table if they'd rather. This project would significantly help my students to stay engaged in their learning throughout the day. It is important to me that they are comfortable and feel at home in our classroom. I cannot wait to see all of the things we can do with flexible seating!
