These modeling kits will be used to help students visualize the molecules that make up living things. Last year my student's struggled with conceptualizing molecules, so I believe this kit will help students by giving them a physical structure to manipulate. My students are more engaged and grasp concepts better if they are able to do hands on activities. Our science curriculum is online and consists of many interactive simulations, but does not include as much hands on learning as I would like. These modeling kits would be a great addition to my classroom, and will allow me to provide an engaging activity during my atoms and molecules unit. If my district is still doing distance learning when I get to this unit I will use the models to create a video for students to see a demonstration of molecule models. I will also give them some resources for creating their own models at home using marshmallows or gumdrops.
