The rug will be used as a part of the organization system in our classroom. My students are divided into tiers based on their skills and age. Each tier has a color that matches the colors on the rug. In our classroom, we do not have a place to hold our big books during circle time or a place to keep them organized. The hopscotch carpet will help children to master body control, manage body rhythm, which is the core of numerous other skills. Movements involved build body strength, balance, eye/hand coordination, and more. It's a great “social campfire” for young children. As well as teaching students numbers sense.
