These resources will be used within the classroom setting so my students would be able to be more engaged in a safer, smaller group of 2 to 3 students. In collaborative small groups, my students will be able to investigate magnetism, explore globes for both science and social students, investigate owl pellets, and use real models of simple machines. The light filters would reduce the glare from the fluorescent classroom lights. I have a couple of students that are often affected by bright light. And each student would have their own individual set of headphones to be used within the classroom. Creating a community-based atmosphere amid this pandemic has been difficult. Board games and exploration toys would allow students time to be able to just have fun and be together as a class community. One of the challenges of distance learning is building a community as a class. Student learning during this pandemic often results in students feeling separated and isolated. When students return to the classroom, their sense of community has been disrupted. My desire is for my students to feel connected. I have also included some art resources as well. These resources would both allow for a creative outlet for my students. Time spent together playing a board game or creating with magnet tiles opens up opportunities for students to reconnect with their friends and classmates. My students often have difficult transitions when they begin distance learning and when they return to the classroom. Their academic learning as well as their overall well-being would be greatly impacted in a positive manner by having resources available to reconnect when they return to the classroom.
