Research has show the importance of recess for all aspects of development! During recess students gain social skills, but they also work on gross motor and fine motor development through play. COVID-19 has changed the way recess looks in schools everywhere. Students are no longer allowed to play together. Playground time is limited and the use of equipment is not permitted. My project aims to provide each of my students an individual recess bag to use during recess time. I have included items for outside play that will help with gross motor development. Also included in this project are brain teasers for cognitive development and items for fine motor development. I know my students will be appreciative as they have had so many of the fun aspects of school taken away!
