Most students want to do the best that they can and achieve great things. Sadly, many underprivileged children go without the tools and supplies that they need to be successful in the classroom. A student who does not have the supplies that they need will be distracted. Knowing that they have the binders, paper, pencils, and whiteboards they need to participate in class will help their engagement and motivation. My students are noticeably more engaged in their work and less disruptive of their peers when they are given the tools that they need to do their work.Your help in providing these needed items can mean the difference between a child succeeding or failing. Students have to do more than just memorize multiplication tables...they have to visualize their math problems. Students will use the math manipulatives from this project to help with the harder-to-understand multiplication and division concepts that they will be learning in the 4th grade.
