It is important that my students grow a love for reading and that books represent people of different colors, creed, and orientations. These books will be used for read-alouds and to fill our classroom library with books about diversity and inclusion so we may begin to better understand each other. They will help ease into discussions around difficult topics and remind them they can make a change for the community around them. I agree with the quote that says "It is crucial that all chidlren have access to books that serve as both windows and mirrors."

About my class
